Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you?
We are based in Cradely. Pretty much all lessons are given on these premises. VERY occasionally we have been known to do home visits but please be aware that, for a number of reasons, this is very unlikely and lessons will be considerably more expensive.

Do you only teach a certain age range?
Simple answer? No. Our youngest student currently is 7 years old and the oldest is 56. Everybody deserves an equal chance at learning to play the drums.

How often do I have to have lessons?
You can have lessons as often as you like. Even if it's once a month! We realise that learning and playing an instrument can be expensive and for that reason we don't ask that you attend within a certain timescale. However, to see a quicker and steady improvement we recommend that you have 1 lesson a week. This helps the tutors keep better track of progress and correct any bad habits before they settle in.

How much do lessons cost?
Please look at the pricing page here for details.

Do you give group lessons?
Currently, I'm afraid we don't.

Do I have to take any grades or exams?
No you don't. However, if you wish to take any grades we will be more than happy to take you through them.

What equipment do I need?
You will need your own pair of drum sticks. If you don't own a pair, Vic Firth sticks are available for purchase from the tutors themselves for a cost of £10 a pair.

Do I need my own drum kit?
We understand that buying a drum kit is an expensive venture and you'd like to know that you'll stick with it after your investment. So contrary to popular belief, no, you don't need a drum kit to learn the drums. In the early stages a pair of sticks and a practice pad (a thick block of rubber) will suffice. However, we do recommend that if you really feel like drumming is for you that you look into purchasing a drum kit.

What am I getting for my money?
Well, for starters, you don't just get the best drum tutoring in the area, you get to learn on top of the range TAMA starclassic drum kits and cymbals. What sets this apart moreso from other conventional drum lessons is that there are two drum kits in the teaching room. This means that you can play along with the tutor and you won't have to keep getting up off your stool for every demonstration.
You are also welcome to make full use of our heated waiting room, complete with comfy sofas, PS2, DVDs, Magazines, drinks and confectionary. And all free of charge! Everything has been taken into account to make your learning experience as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible.

Why should I come to you for lessons?
As well as having some of the most impressive value for money in the Midlands area we also offer absolute top quality tuition. You get so much more for your money than just a drum lesson as you will see above. Take a look at our lessons page for more details why you should join in the MADness!

Can I get a discount?
Due to the varying pricing amongst tutors it is wise to ask the tutor in person. You will find that they will be more
